A quarant’anni dalla sua fondazione, La Nuova Pesa presenta la mostra XL. Memorie in divenire, un progetto che raccoglie e intreccia le molteplici voci che hanno segnato la storia della galleria dal 1985 a oggi.
Per l’occasione gli spazi di via del Corso si trasformano in una grande quadreria contemporanea: 180 opere, 180 artisti che in questi quattro decenni hanno attraversato la galleria, si dispongono a comporre un’unica installazione corale. Non un semplice archivio visivo e nostalgico, ma l’occasione di intrecciare nuovamente le memorie e stimolare il confronto generazionale. Un invito a ripercorrere la storia con uno sguardo rivolto in avanti, consapevole che le radici critiche e artistiche degli ultimi decenni sono il terreno su cui fondare il presente e il futuro.
XL. Memorie in divenire restituisce la complessità di un percorso lungo quarant’anni, ma anche la sua continua trasformazione: una memoria che non si chiude in sé stessa, ma resta aperta, pronta a essere riletta e a generare ulteriori possibilità di dialogo.
Exhibition Marking the 40th Anniversary of La Nuova Pesa Gallery
Forty years after its founding, La Nuova Pesa presents the exhibition XL. Memories in the Making, a project that brings together and weaves together the many voices that have shaped the gallery’s history from 1985 to the present.
For the occasion, the spaces on Via del Corso are transformed into a vast contemporary art gallery: 180 works by 180 artists who have passed through the gallery over these four decades come together to form a single, unified installation. This is not merely a visual and nostalgic archive, but an opportunity to weave memories anew and foster intergenerational dialogue. An invitation to retrace history with an eye toward the future, aware that the critical and artistic roots of recent decades are the foundation upon which to build the present and the future.
XL. Memories in the Making captures the complexity of a forty-year journey, but also its continuous transformation: a memory that does not close in on itself, but remains open, ready to be reinterpreted and to generate further possibilities for dialogue.
